Mailbox Damage Policy
Winter is here and the snow plows will undoubtedly be pressed into service in the coming weeks. Mailboxes are sometimes damaged during snow plowing as a result of the force of the snow as it is being pushed aside. Most mailboxes should be capable of withstanding this force if properly installed and maintained, however damage to mailboxes is still a reality. While government agencies are not required to replace damaged mailboxes, the City of Bucyrus does choose to do so as a courtesy. Replacement mailboxes will consist of a standard 7” x 9” x 19” mailbox on a 4” x 4” post. Decorative mailboxes or those above the standard mailbox mentioned above will not be replaced in kind.
